Eddie Seese was born in 1974 and grew up in Ellenboro WV. He went to work for the Mid Atlantic Glass factory when he was 18. He had always occupied his time as a child drawing pictures and creating things with his hands, so working with glass, making handblown crystal stemware didn't seem like work at all. In 1997 Eddie was offered a job working for the Fenton Art Glass Company. This was a whole new experiance, being able to work with an assortment of colors, molds, tools and crimps. The monotany of mass producing the same things over and over and not being able to express himself left him with the feeling that he wasn't accomplishing anything. He then began renting studio time in 1999 and experimenting with vases and eggs. Eddie was most intriqued by the endless possibilities of colors and techniques that one could use to express art in the form of a marble. He found himself reading everything he could get his hands on. He was particulary interested in the form of old italian marble cane techniques. Eddie then began buying quality sheet glass, powdered glass and large colored rods which could be used to make long strings of color. After learning about color He started putting together complicated marble canes swirling from end to end. Eddie started attending marble shows and realized that others had an interest and appreciation for what he was doing. His father (Barney Seese), a glassblower for 32 years helped Eddie complete his own full size art glass studio in 2003, including a 250lb glass furnace. Eddie has future plans of creating blownware using the designs of his marbles. Eddie has many contemporary handmade marble designs: including his origional designs such as his ArtWork marbles, dragon style marbles.He also makes clambroths, joseph's coat, banded swirls, solid dichroic core swirl marbles and many more.
